My first readings with my API test.

I was a little confused at first, but, then I figured it out.

pH- 7.6
nitrite- 0
nitrate- 0
ammonia-.50

Now off to do more reading.

i would do a 50 % water change with ammonia at .5 since its toxic to your fish. Is your tank new?

Note that if you used the low-range pH test, a reading of 7.6 indicates the pH is 7.6 or ABOVE. You would have to use the high-range pH test to find out exactly what it is.

Okay, I tested about 30 minutes after PWC.

ph- 7.6
high range ph- 8
nitrite- 0
nitrate- 0
Am- .5

This is day 5 of my new tank.

With the pH test, when you get a reading that's at the end of the range, it might mean that the actual pH is off that color chart. You should confirm your reading with the other pH test:

If low-range test reading = 7.6, then re-test with high-range test
If high-range test reading = 7.4, then re-test with low-range test

Now that you know your pH is around 8, you can probably just use the high-range pH test most of the time.
