Sorry to hear you're having problems. Are you over stocked? Added any new fish or critters lately? Keep a close eye on your water chemistry and do some water changes. Can you post your readings?

Well, you aren't over stocked. I'd do a water change and maybe vacuum 1/2 the tank. Check your readings again tomorrow. Do another water change according to your readings if necessary.

I started having this issue on Thursday, 2 water changes and vacuumed already. No change in anything. The fish only get feed once every 2 days, FYI.

What test kit are you using? If it's the API master kit, the #2 nitrate bottle needs to be banged around a bit to get the cystals mixed otherwise you can get a false 0 reading.
A mini cycle, possibly from over cleaning or replacing filter media could explain the nitrite reading.

Yes it is the API master, I always shake them up. I got that lesson when I first bought the kit. I dont think that I over clean, and the filter media has not been recently replaced.
