Ok...our tank is now reading zero ammonia, zero nitrite, and pretty much zero nitrate. Our fish seem very healthy and active, and our little algae eater survived. :-) He's not so little anymore though..

Anyway...I noticed tonight when I dropped an algae wafer in for Freddy (the algae eater) that a couple of our new zebra danios started eating it! This explains why they haven't been hungry when we feed them. I'm just scared that by the time he gets around to it....it will be all gone.

Suggestions?

feed the other fish first and while they are entertained drop the wafer in the opposite side of the tank.

or, feed him when the lights are out. Thats what I do so my otos get to eat their wafers.
