Hello fish fans,

Today is exactly one month to the day after beginning a fishless 20 gallon new aquarium cycling, and tonight it tested nitrite free for the first time!!!



I just added ammonia a few minutes ago, and will test tomorrow to see how long it takes before the nitrites fall back to zero again. I'm anxious to be within that 10-12 hour nitrite window.

One question I have; once the nitrites fall to zero within a 12 hour period, and then after I do the 75-90% water change, how long should I wait to put my fish in there from the point where I complete the water change?

I am moving four fish from a smaller 10 gal tank.

isnt it a GREAT feeling..almost like it wasnt going to happen!!! congrats!!!!!! once you have the 0 ammonia, nitrites, and under 20 nitrates, you are golden to add fish!!
whats going to happen to the 10 gallon?? maybe a couple betta's
