Biospira-How exactly does it work?

I added Biospira to my tank and added more fish but I would like to know how exactly it works. How many fish at a time can I put in? How often I can put fish in? How often should I now be checking the water for ammonia, pH and all that?

I added extra Biospira because I read that you can never overdose. I added to my 75gal tank a package that was enough for 90gal.

Any other information about Biospira would be greatly appreciated.

I added bio-spira. Went that night and got some julii corys(3) yoyo loaches(3) clown pleco and added them with the 4 guppies I had already in the tank. Some recommend adding them slowly, due to filtration and other concerns.

If you are unsure about anything you are doing, I would definitely use caution and take things slower than you may in a few months when you have MTS

Just want to reiterate that it is recommended to add 2-3 at a time over the course of 2-3 weeks. When you introduce schools, it's fine to bring in 6 at a time, ie: danios, neons, etc.

Bio spira is the actual bacteria you find in a cycled tank. It works best when you add a full bioload of fish into a properly stocked tank. You can add a few fish at a time, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the bio spira, because you will probably end up having a mini cycle everytime you add more fish to the tank. The bio spira is dormant when you buy it, and once you add it to your tank, it is very hungry, and if you only have a few fish in the tank, the excess bacteria will die off from starvation. Then when you add more fish to the tank, the bacteria must multiply again to catch up to the added ammonia in the tank. As far as the UV filter, Dino could probably answer that one. I don't think I would use it until your tank is fully cycled, and all the fish have been added to the tank.
