It took some time to get the chemical balance correct and was adding fish throughout the cycle cautiously. But it has come around pretty well. The crab died in 2 days and I lost one small striped loach

Chemical test came up with 0 nitrite and 0 ammonia Nitrates sitting between 10 and 20, using live plants and a pretty bright bulb which im thinking of changeing its 96 watts.

46 Gallon Bow Front

1 Rainbow Shark
3 Tiger Barbs
2 Upside Down Catfish
1 4 Line catfish
1 Striped Loach
2 Diving Frogs
2 Red Crystal Platy's (Room mates insistance)
2 Clown Loach
1 Clown Pleco
4 Live Plants

This may seem like a lot but most are small as of now, and only addition im thinking of is a school of Bala Sharks, once I see how often I have to maintain this the way it is. It was actually 30 days from the link when I started

Best,

Kris

Re: 30 Days Cycle Complete And we are a go.

Thank you,

Im waiting to see how much maintenence it is going to need, at this point all chemical levels are good at a 2 week level. Its been a week and all looks good since last change. Would like to keep it at every other week, but if I have to it can be done once a week.

I do have a question however if someone knows? I did a Fluval 305 filter system and its rated for a 70 gallon tank. How often should the filter contents be changed? Curious about the charcoal more than anything, the bio looks fine and the standard type filters come pretty clean when rinced out.

Thank you for reply's and I will keep you posted. If I add the Bala's I know I will be pushing the envelope and stareing at a larger tank within a year. But I like buying new fish

Who doesn't? My boyfriend let himself be sweettalked by the vendor into buying new pleco. I figured: fine, if you impulse-buy fish, I"ll have to impulse buy the new tanks to match!
