Anyone out there done cycling with fish?? How long does it take with fish compared to without? I am 5 days in with no ammonia at all.

I've done it twice. Once took approx 20 days, the other approx 30-35.

Thanks-- that gives me a relative time frame. I don't want to get my Rams until the tank is completly cycled.

I think most of the older fish keepers have cycled at least one tank with fish before we learned better With fish is faster but you usually lose a few fish before the cycle is over.

i put my fish in exactly 5 days after starting a cycle with a used bio filter. since the addition, i have used nutrafin's cycle. I am testing the tank this weekend (day 21) to see if it is cycled. I haven't lost any fish, as the cycle product helps with fish stress.
