Learning the Hard way.

Hi

I found this site it is really helpful. I have a 10 gallon tank with 1 white and 1 black Mollies, and 1 mickey mouse, 1 cory cat, and 5 baby mickey mouse. That have been about 2 weeks old. I didnt get all the fish at one time waited about a week. I had 2 mickey mouse fish but one died.
Well I didnt find out about this cycle thing until today. Well my pH is 7.0, ammonia 4.0, nitrite 2.0 and nitrate 5.0. I have been feeding them about 3 times a day but not really heavly. I not for shere what to do. The people at the fish store arnt as helpful as I thought.

Re: Learning the Hard way.

Your tank is definately starting to cycle, but the ammonia and Nitrite is at a toxic level. the way to lower these readings is to do large water changes(about 50%) until they go down. You will have to do daily water changes to lower it before any more fish die.
Keep us posted and Welcome to FishLore.
