Water clarity question

Howdy

I have a 55 gallon tank i recently set up its been running bout 4 days ive added my fish, ive added some CYCLE, Salt, enzymes, and some water from my exisiting tank hoping to get the cylce started quickly. my question is its cleared up quite a bit but there is still a slight cloudiness to it. It is only shows up close to the light and jsut makes the tank appear blurry. Is there a way to get rid of this? I have a marineland penguin (i think) filter with biowheel thats good sized i added fresh carbon to it and cleaned the filter but it doesnt seem to be clearing it up

The tank should clear up on its own. Did you rinse the gravel and decorations thoroughly before adding them to the tank?

I would not add cycle to your tank. It does not actually help to cycle tanks. Make sure that since you have a fully stocked tank already that you are doing daily water changes so that the fish are not harmed by the rising ammonia and nitrite levels.

You do not need to add salt to your aquarium. Your fish are all fine in regular freshwater.

By the way, you will probably encounter problems in the future due to the stocking of your tank. goldfish should not be housed with other freshwater fish because they thrive in lower temps than most tropical fish do. Your two plecos will definetly outgrow your tank. A 55 gallon is large enough to house 1 common pleco by itself. I do not mean to criticize you, I am just trying to help you prevent future trouble with your tank. I know how frustrating it can be when things go wrong, and I would hate for anything to happen to your fish.

Thanks for the reply as far as the fish choices i was kind of trapped in it LOL my 2 shubunkins i had first i think they are gorgeous and i enjoy the personality they have. when I got my 55 gallon tank off of craigslist it had the stand , aquarium, gravel, heater, lids, lights, and also the neon tetras, swordtail, and 2 plecos But it was all Free so i couldnt complain. so i inherieted them. I went ahead today and transferred the tetras and the swordtail along with a new female swordtail into my 10 gallon. Ideally i want the 55 to be a tropical fish tank but for some reason I cant bring myself to put the shubunkins back into the 10 and i dont want to get rid of them Is it odd to feel like you are abondoning Fish by gettign rid of them LOL

i think its better to re-home them where they will be getting better care than for someone not to care for a fish they dont want. the level of care will slowly go downhill
