I would not do that. You can put a Frozen shrimp in there, but a sardine will have oil and stuff in it. If your tank is only 4 days old you should have no Nitrates or Nitrites at this point. The NitrAtes happen about 3-4 weeks into the cycle, that means your cycle is finished. It is possible that the water coming out of your faucet has Nitrates in it. You should test the water out of your faucet and see what the nitrate results are. Please let us know.

I've just tested the tap water and there are no nitrates well less than 5 not totally clear. I did add some Bacterlife and some Aquasafe at the require amounts i'm therefore thinking this is why i'm getting these weird results HELP!! or should I phone the Guiness Book of Records a state my claim for the fastest cycled tank ever!!!
I'm just doing another Nitrate test of my tank to ensure im not getting my Nitrate mixed up with my Nitrite but surely the first thing I should be noticing is a sharp increase in ammonia
Okay now my tank is detecting Nitrate levels less than 5.
Now i'm going to re-test for Nitrite and Ammonia
Result is Ammonia 0 Nitrite .1
Okay now that makes sense obviously the cycle hasnt stareted yet. Bummer
