Can I mix Prime with Biospira?

I am ready to add biospria to my occupied un-cycled tank, on the back of biospira it says that some chemicals that remove ammonia will kill the bacteria. Should I do a 25% water change using Stress Coat instead of prime then add biospira?

Good Catch! There has been a long discussion on this and e-mails with the manufactures of bio-spira, read for yourself at this link.

It's a long thread, but you will find HUGE help in tank cycling from calinbs experiments and as I said that e-mail.....

Hope it helps.

Sorry found a post answering my question.

Once a tank is cycled, can Prime be used or will it disrupt the beneficial bacteria?

Once your tank is cycled there should not be toxic levels of ammonia or nitrite that you would NEED prime. But prime does more than just make ammonia and nitrite non toxic. It conditions the water against chlorine, chloramine, heavy metals, AND stimulates the slime coat. So it is good to use as directed, but I would wait until after your cycle is complete, and all the different bacteria have a good chance to establish strong populations in your tank.

Once again the link I gave you will explain more about it.

Actually I would use nothing except a dechlorinator, water change before adding bio-spira would be ok, then don't do any more water changes for a week as directed.
