Goldfish Rocks?

I finally found someone with a tank that i could borrow some rocks from or something of that sort. My mom's friend has a tank with a couple goldfish in it that she has had for awhile. Would i be able to borrow some rocks from her tank and put them in mine to cycle my tank faster? Thanks!

yes you can...just make sure her tank is in good health, no sick fish. and the gravel is not full of nasty yicky stuff.

also, the rocks hav to stay in a bag with tank water in it while they travel, so they dont dry

It would be better to get some floss from the filter. That's where most of the beneficial bacteria live and not on the rocks.

so would i just have to cut a piece off her filter off then...? I don't know her that well so i'm not sure if she would be cool with that.

If i can get these rocks should i still try and get BioSpira? Or will the rocks get the bacteria going quickly?
