Where i am at with cycling

ok so heres my story i went to myy LFS on saturday i then bought some bio spira put it intoo my 55 gallon tank that night the next day i had a terrible snowboarding accident and i broke my shoulder i had to get surgery so i stayed in the hospital for 2 nights and no water testing has been done since today i have 0 ammonia pH is 6.5 my nitrite levle is a 5 and my nitrate is a 80 any advice on how my cycle is going or what to do would be great

Hi Josh,
Sorry to hear about your snowboarding experience ! wow...
I have not used bio-spira so cannot really give you any help on what to do now, but I can say that the nitrAte is way too high! How are your zebra danios doing? With no ammonia showing, nitrIte readings normally I would say that your tank has not cycled yet and I wouldnt add any fish yet.
Your PH is the same as mine, are you on a well by chance? What part of MA do you live in? You were lucky to find the bio spira at your lfs! Not that I need it anymore but it sure would have been nice to find it around here.

i live in middleton its a resevore the readings might be a bit off because its those sticks and its hard to read the danios are doing great

With BioSpira, I believe you don't want to test or change water for 7 days. The reason being, you'll freak out.

Sucks about the snowboarding accident, but I think your tank is ok.
