I have a 10g tank and am not happy with the color gravel I used.
Would changing gravel set off a mini cycle?
I could possibly do it in 2 stages if that would help avoid it.

I plan to use some of the old gravel to jump start a 5 gal. hex and a small quarantine tank.

Lucy, if you want to take all of the gravel out of the 10g what I would suggest is take a net and put a softball sized portion of the gravel already in the 10g in that and leave it hanging inside the 10g's water. Take the rest out and use it where ever you choose. When you put more gravel in the 10g keep the net of gravel in for a week if you want to be on the safe side, you probably could make it off of 4-5 days though.
