Prime Question

I just bought a 100mL bottle of Prime, since I never used it before and my 20 gal . tank is still cycling (with 4 zebra danios) I added about 3/4 of a cap full. Prior to this I was using just a dechlorinator when doing water changes. My question is when you do water changes how much Prime do you add to each gallon of water? My other stuff was 3 drops per gallon, but the Prime seems much stronger and it does not come out by the drop. Any help would be appreciated.

What we use for Prime is one of those empty travel shampoo bottles at walmart. It lets us do 1 drop per gallon.

Great idea!!

I bought a baby syringe (to give babies medicine) and do drops that way.

Hi mlinden, I also buy the baby syringes. I use them to feed the fish the frozen thawed brine shrimp and bloodworms or any of the frozen foods.

Hi Joe D.
The back of the bottle of prime gives you the directions for how much to use.
Reading on the back of my bottle of prime it says that you use a cap full (5ML.) per 50g tank. So for a twenty gal tank you would use 2MLs of prime.
You will be able to measure this by using the syringe or by using the inside thread of the cap to measure each ML that way. There are five threads in the cap.

I bought a small bottle of Prime that does have a dropper lid, so I refill it with a bigger bottle. That way I know for sure it is the same size drop.....Some drops ARE bigger than others....

That's the problem, my cap does not have 5 threads like the instructions say and it does not come out in drops. I emailed Seachem support and they said 2 drops per gallon. I guess I'll find some kind of dropper.

Yeah I use the syringes for the frozen foods too, they work awesome!

I also use them to "target feed" my betta food other than pellets. he can't seem to find foods if they don't float, so i use the syringes to put the foot almost in his mouth.
