I just got a new 55 freshwater and im excited i have had a tank before but years ago and i understand you need to add fish in orrder to get cycle going correct me if im wrong but wat fish do u think would be good to add first thanks

Welcome to fishlore! A 55 g tank is a great size and your choice of fish after your cycle are many!
Have you read up on the nitrogen cycle? Also there are great articles here for starting up a new tank and cycling with fish. I cannot give you the link, but if you search the first page of the forum especially here in the FW beginners guide you will find the information you need.
After you have read up on this, Im sure anyone here would be happy to answer your questions.
