hey guys. after about a month, my tank is getting extreml high nitrite readings, but they are now going down as my nitrates increase. this sounds like a cycled tank, but about 2 weeks ago i added "cycle" to my tank, not knowing that this was the wrong knd of bacteria, which will eat up the ammonia and then die. do u think my tank is cycled, or is the "cycle" product just making it look like it?? thanks for ur help!

The Cycle product should have died off by now.
However, your tank won't be completely cycled until the nitrites are gone completely. It does sound like you are well on your way, though.

I agree...the tank is "cycling", not "cycled". I would not worry about the Cycle from 2 weeks ago...you are nearly there.

I also agree that you are almost there! When you start to see the nitrite levels start to drop its only a matter of days...(usually though all tanks are different) or maybe a week at the most. Good luck!!!
