My Chemistry Change???? Help!

I've had my tank for about 4 moths, And it's been cycled. The problem I have is that now all my chemistry when back to 0!!!! everything!!! ammonia, nitrate and nitrite. I found out this week when I did my water test. Before, my chemistry was
Ammonia 0, Nitrate 0 and nitrite 40ppm. The only thing that has been changed is temperature range from a 75-85 to a 85-95. Now that it's summer I'm having problems cooling off my thank. Anyway, What do you guys think? The temperature change my chemistry? And whats going to happen now? Is it going to cycle again?

Thanks!

Re: My Chemistry Change???? Help!

It's possible (though I don't know how likely) that the boost in temp has given your plants a boost in growth, for which they will have to draw on the nitrites in your tank. If this is the case, your tank shouldn't cycle again.

Other than that, or human error (with regards to the test), I can't think of any possibilities.

Re: My Chemistry Change???? Help!

You say your tank WAS cycled, but if you have 40ppm NITRITE, it isn't cycled at all! Did you miss state this? A cycled tank should have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and 5 or above nitrate. When the nitrite is high it is quite lethel on fish. I do agree if you have a planted tank it could be some growth in plants that could take one element out of the water. What kind of testing kit are you using?

Re: My Chemistry Change???? Help!

Well it could be going through a mini cycle, but 40ppm nitrite? Sounds nearly like a misreading to me.
