Re: Marineland Stealth Heater

They are much cheaper online at http://www.drsfostersmith.com* I just got a couple back-ups for $14.39 each on sale, but the sale has been going on for a L-O-N-G time.* They are excellent and have LIFETIME warranties.* (keep those sales slips and UPC codes)

Best heaters ever,

If you have a pet co near you, you can go on line and print out there sale price and take it into the store and they will honer that on line price. I have 4 of these heaters they are great and I never paid over $20.00 for any of them and we are talking about the big dogs to. Also you get the benefit of the cheap on line price without paying the shipping, it works on all the items they sell.* *

Re: Marineland Stealth Heater

I agree, the Stealths are one of the best if not the best heaters available. I've used other Pyrex glass heaters in the past but they just cannot compete with the plastic Stealths. Much safer and durable. I especially like the aluminum core vs the ceramic cores of other heaters since aluminum is a much better heat conductor. The built-in shock foam is a great feature too.

Only problem that I have is where the heck is the light to be sure it's on.

No light so if you need a reassurance you will need a thermometer but I have never had a problem and it is enough peace of mind for me that the only time I ever had a failure it was with the only heater I had that HAD the light.

I'm not saying it's a bad heater, but I sure wish it had a light and I do have thermometers in my tank's. One nice thing is I even dropped it on the floor(carpet) and it still works plus when doing water changes,if the water goes below the heater it will shut off automatically.. It's the first stealth that I have bought and I was looking all over for the light, lol. I have another one here that has a light made by marineland and thats also guarenteed for life. So when the stealth arrived it was just through expierience with heaters that I wondered where the light is,don't take it PERSONAL.

I agree with you on the lighted heaters, already lost 2 of them.

Re: Marineland Stealth Heater

LOL I didn't take it personal. The one I lost was the Marineland gauranteed for life with the light and it was only 3 weeks old. I still love my Stealth but I was sent the Visi-therm Deluxe by mistake and they wouldn't take it back to exchange it so I had to use it. I knew my luck was not going to be good from that point on and I woke up 3 weeks later to a tank that was 75 degrees and a heater full of water. Marineland won't replace it with anything but another Deluxe so I told them no thank you and ordered a Stealth.

I just got one through Foster and Smith today and it was 17.99 for a 200watt (which I think was a HUGE deal!) I replaced the el cheapo top fin which had horrible reviews

Bought one almost a week ago now, (150w) from the LFS. It did not take long at all to warm the water. So far, the temp has been very accurate. I monitor it w/ two thermometers, but mostly rely on the digital one. Very satisfied w/ the purchase even though I paid a liitle extra at the LFS.
