Background question

just a question about backgrounds. What backgrounds do you prefer and look better. At the moment on both my tanks I have "backgrounds" you know the ones you buy at the LFS that have pics of plants and rocks on them. But i've been thinking that maybe just blue would look better.

I have had my tank repaired due to major shattering during a move last year so I have quite a few repair marks on the back that the tacky backround hides well. So i'm not sure if the just blue cardboard will make them stand out more.

some of my tanks i use the fishstore ones and others I use wrapping paper of different designs...Im a typical girl and like to change things often so the wrapping paper is cheap and you have a ton of designs to choose from !!

Personally, i use black paper. I bought a yard of it for 1 dollar. It brings out the color on ALL my fish. The gift wrapping paper sounds like a good idea also, and its fairly cheap, and disposable
you could have holiday papers! like christmas, halloween, etc!

IMO black backgrounds showcase the fish best. I prefer the glossy look - it's a much deeper black. I highly recomend a product called "seaview" to attach it. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...m?pcatid=18280

I will never do anything else to the back of a tank except paint it with spray paint. Works like a charm and looks great. Wide variety of colors and also pretty cheap. (Be sure to spray outside on the outside of an empty tank! )

How do you remove it?

Razor blade if needed. Comes off pretty easy.

Seems like more work, but you get 0 water spots, the color is even, it just looks great.

I like the black high gloss backgrounds too. I've also painted on glass tanks as well and I think they both look good. Painting on plastic...not sure. If you did paint on plastic I don't know that you would be able to remove it easily.

I support black backgrounds! Sometimes blue could work as well

A few examples to actually set eyes on. Here is some of my tanks, black is a plastic glossy background taped on, the blue is paint. Both are nice i think.

Oooo those are great. I'm partial to the blue just because I like the tank to look bright and happy. Lol.
