3 and 1 gallon fish bowls?

I have two fishbowls: One 1 gallon and One 3 gallon. I know I can't keep any fish in them, but I would like to aquascape them. Is that possible in a bowl that size, and if so, any suggestions on how I should do it?

Thanks in advance

Those could be pretty cute. And really you could do whatever you wanted with them.

Well, if you did want something living, that would still be a nice size for shrimp or a snail. Maybe check out your pet store's selection of those (they come in different colors) and choose a plant, stone, glass, etc. based on the shrimp or snail. Umm, maybe do a color scheme, or mini bonzai tree scheme, or you could grow bamboo. The 3g would comfortable fit a pretty betta.

Wait...I'm thinking of the pre-made ready-to-go 1 or 3 gallon bowls. Do you just have a literal bowl? In that case, Bamboo may be your best option. It grows well and it's very pretty.

I've kept a betta bowl in a betta tank before.... I had a natural "tank" scheme (natural colored pea gravel, live plants driftwood etc...) then in the middle of that I put a half gallon betta bowl with purple and blue substrate and one of those neon cave/ rock things, it was cool because there was like the pretty tank with like the typical 'fish bowl'.

My bowls are just ordinary fish bowls. They are round. A few people have reccomended snails in bowls. Is that a good idea, or no. That way I could keep the snail in the bowl, or maybe get two and then get a dwarf puffer! I'm getting off track. Can I keep a snail in a 3 gallon? I would clean it 30% twice a week, or would the snail be unhappy? Also, how could I aquascape the bowls?

Hmmm, I'm not certain about the snail in a regular bowl because they like to climb out of the water sometimes and you may find yourself without a snail one of these days if he decides to keep on climbing. I'm not sure what you mean by aquascape. You can aquascape anything. Your best bet for bowls that size would probably be a plant or two with pretty sand, gravel, or stone depending on the type of plant. I would think you'd have to get a mini heater or something and an airstone if you want to keep a puffer or any fish in a regular bowl.

Bowls are hard for fish. Plants may be the way to go. Or shrimp, but I really know nothing about them.

Gl, this is tough!

I wasn't going to put the puffer in the bowl. I have an empty 5 gallon with a filter and a heater that I could use for a puffer. I have a lid for the 3 gallon, so the snail climbing out wouldn't be a problem. Any other suggestions?

I'd suggest using the smallest bowl as a snail farm and for the bigger bowl I'd put an amazon sword in the center and add a mystery snail.
just an idea.

Wow! That's cool, Shawnie!

You can put bamboo in the bowl just as iloveengl said. They grow very nicely and you could put some nice colorful gravel in the bowl. I would maybe put a bamboo and put a lil' haze-maker machine and it'll be awesome!
