| One thing that I am thinking of transitioning to over a slow and long period of time is the natural tank setup. As of right now I do weekly 50% water changes. I keep my water level high enough for the filters to stir the water surface without disturbing the surface drastically. My filters move the surface just enough to keep it from getting stagnant yet they turn the water over many times in a hour. So I think my filters can work as they are for a natural set up.
One other thing I am wanting to do. I read in one of the fish magazines about using a heavily planted tank with a heavy load of fish. In theory the fish waste will feed the plants which in turn keep the tank healthy. I currently have 44 inches of fish in my 33g tank. I am shooting for about 65 inches of fish. I think this will work (hoping anyway) because all my fish are very light in their bioload. Any thoughts? |

| I love the shape of the 33 gallon long, and I'm sure the fish enjoy the extra length to swim. Great job distributing the plants and rocks to look natural and interesting. Nice color, too. |

| 65inches in a 33 will probably pushing it to far. in therory thats correct and i have a 29 which im going to do something like that. i am a big plant person and i have a very heavily planted tank. i am going to be putting around 35 inches in it after i am completly stocked. currently i have around 25...
hope that helps
ps: 50 inches is probably max but i would check with some more fishlorians. |
