I have a Acrylic tank and I was wondering if I could use Windex to clean the outside of it

yes I use it with newspaper (not the colored section just the black and white portion) and they work better than papertowels IMO

I use windex but first I spray it on a soft cloth.
Wouldn't want any getting in the tank.

I messed up an acrylic window from my house with windex!
somebody explained to me that most of these products may have ammonia.

You shouldn't use windex on acrylic it makes the plastic blurry. use some of that plastic cleaner xoxide sells or something similar and you can use windex once and a while but repeated use will harm your acrylic.
