A Natural tank look

Has anyone tried putting Willow cuttings in their tanks? Leave the tops out of the water and get an incredible root system down in the tank....like hydroponics. I am trying it and so far is cool looking. Willow Water also helps other plants (terrestrial) root and grow....hope is long term ok. They dicovered the makings for asprin fom willows.

That sounds like a cool Idea. I have seen pictures with that done with Mangroves, since they are fine in SW and FW. I bet its really cool.
Also, someone did something sort of similar on this forum, they used houseplants to filter their water.

Also hear that the willow was great for getting rid of 'green' water as well.

After the roots grow out better I'll get pics. Doesn't "show" well right now.

Didn't last very long....the potential was great!!!...lol....the growing tops need way more light than just ambient room light. The roots put out really nice as the tops started the wither!!!

Was/am now thinking of putting the test tank at and est window with the top of the tank level with the sill....then then there would be plenty of light for the willow tops....humm aquaculture....lol fresh tomatoes and fish!!!

LOL...don't invite the wrong person over ... they'd see a whole meal in that combination and we just can't have that, now can we?
