| This is tricky. The wood would need to be able to withstand being submerged in water and not decompose. The drift woods and things you see in some tanks are able to be there because of a natural ability and curing process that keeps them from decompossing at a fast rate. I worry that the bamboo would not be able to be conditioned properly so that it doesnt create a large amount of waste in the water and thus dangerous for the fish.
Seals or coatings are also not a great idea either as they can leach chemicals into the water that can be harmful.
There is an aquatic species of bamboo that can be partially submerged in water that might be suitable for this, although you will need to check over at plantgeek.com for the specifics. |
