Hello ladies and gents !
quick question here ... i got lots of used rocks from another aquarium, should i do a lot of cleaning or simple wash with tap water

i'd wash with a 1 part bleach 19 part water mixture, who knows what kind of diseases may have been in there. was it a craigslist kind of thing or do you know whose tank it was and what kind of condition they kept it in?

I agree with agabr....the bleach will kill all the cooties that may be lurking in the gravel.

So what do i do let it sit or scrub the rocks, this guy had them in his tank with african cichlids, the water looked good but i'd rather be safe than sorry

boiling them in a big pan and then using a drainer to clean them after, will work just as well..
