Goodmorning! I've spent the past hour or two trying to figure out which section would be best to ask my questions but it seems I have a question for every section Lol. But I think
aquascaping pretty much sums it up so here I am.
I'm going shopping here in a little bit for some aquarium stuff.
My 30gal is plain and ugly. lol Nothing in it but dirty white gravel, snails, and an air stone. What color gravel would you suggest? I can't make up my mind. I plan to have guppies and neons in that tank that is when I get the okay from Mr. Dozey and the others who have given me great advice.
I'd like the fish to stand out so I'm guessing a darker color. What do I with the gravel that I have in there? It has all the good bacteria in it.
I'm going to look into getting some plants today too. I've got no idea about lighting. I did some reading in the lighting threads but still can't figure it out.
In my 55gal I have two 15 watt bulbs. I have no idea on the 30gal. I have the bulb in front of me but it doesn't have a wattage on it that I can see or maybe this is a clue... Eclipse F18T8 Natural Daylight. Near the bulb there is this round thing that I pulled out that says FS-22 Starter 4...22W
110V/130V-Single I'm guessing thats the power thingie for the hood. I dunno. All I know is that aquarium is very bright. Maybe its because there isn't anything in it but white gravel.
So what kinds of plants would you suggest?
Drift wood.... Where is the best place to purchase this? The stuff I've seen in the petstore seems pretty expensive for a piece of wood. Could I get some at a craft store? If so how long should I soak it?
Any and all suggestions welcomed.
Thanks!
