Bamboo trays as aquarium decor?

and bamboo trays

I soaked them in water for about an hour to clean them, then started reading your thread. Should I wait a few days for them to dry and lacquer them up before I put them into my tank? I have this idea to set them up vertically around my tank after I glue them to some stone to hold them down.

I will need aquarium lacquer and aquarium glue?

I moved your post to its own thread. The question in the thread you posted in had been answered, and the thread wasn't likely to get much attention anymore, meaning your post wouldn't get much attention.

As far as using these bamboo trays, if you're going to make them a permanent part of your aquarium (using glue), it would be a good idea to lacquer them with an aquarium-safe product first.

Ok. Thanks for moving the thread. I'll see what they have at the LFS unless you recommend a certsin product of aquarium lacquer and glue?

You might want to check out some of the driftwood threads in this section. I know i've seen mention of one around here somewhere... I'll check myself and see if I can link it here for you.

I, too, have seen recommendations for aquarium safe lacquers... I just don't remember where, and I'm too lazy to look them up right now.

Has anyone ever used polyurethane varnish to seal aquarium decor?
