I would say it can, aslong as you boil it (obviously) and aslong as it sinks .

I use caves for my tanks which are ment to be used in vivariums

i've tried this and in my experience the woods are apparently different? driftwood is wood that has long died, obviously then any wood thats used in reptile tanks etc would be long dead also... but whenever i've tried using wood leftover from my lizards tank it would grow mold/mildew on it and i've never had any good experiences with using anything that isn't natural driftwood.
