Just another one of my random questions i think of over the course of the day.
Everyone says that bog/drift wood can help lower pH, but just how much does it lower the pH?

in my experience just a couple weeks ago, ALOT ...my tap is 7 ...when i set up an african tank (or bf did) with a piece of driftwood, it was still 7...the next night, about 24 hours later, it was down to 6 ...I removed it immediately and added some crushe coral..the next night, it was 7.8..ive read using crushed coral with the driftwood can be ok and keep it more stable and higher ..just use more of the coral or soak it for a few months as its the tannis that usually lowers the ph more than the driftwood
