For my new mbuna tank i really wanna go with a black theme- black sand, dark rocks etc so i was wondering what time of paint can I use to paint clay pots black? Or can you not use paint inside the tank??

I wouldn't risk painting the pots black, I would think that the paint could chip off. The only possible idea I can come up with is glazing the pots & then cooking them in a pottery kiln. Then using a top glaze to seal it.

Instead of painting pots black, perhaps you can get some black plastic ones and weigh them down.

Another way to do it is get black aquarium silicon and use that to cover it. It wouldn't be smooth, and it'd be hard on your hands lol, but it's an option....

yeah i definitely wouldn't risk paint in a tank, even if it's water resistant. there are probably decorations that are already black that would be similar, just keep an eye out for them
