265g Photos

Hello everyone! Here are some photos as promised. Although I'm not very proud of the shots themselves. I've asked a neighbor/friend to come and take some shot with her digital camera and a video as well. So bare with me and I"ll have some better photos hopefully soon.

Note the driftwood standing in the corner. I decided not to use it once it was brought to my attention that fish in our creek and river may contain mercury. There is a "notice" at the boat landing not to eat but 1 fish per week caught from this area. So, I like it in the corner The wall hanging by the driftwood was a gift. My friend (and wonderful seamstress) found a woman's vest with these fish on it. She took it apart and hand stitched the fish to new material and hot glued the pearls for the bubbles. I love it!
Thanks for your patience!
Ken

Thanks BB. I appreciate it folks. It does feel very cool and relaxing in the room. I'm very happy with it all and very fortunate. I'm going to be looking for new furniture, more relaxing, in the not too distant future.

The fish are loving it and that's what is most important.

huh??! It's built around the tank! Wow amazing! You truly put in a lot of effort into this and really pulled it off. It looks kid of weird from the outside but it is really cool. The grass is greener too, that means its happy. You mind telling me what the center decoration is? I want something like that can it be done with a house tree?

Thanks everyone. Your thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated! It's been a great fun project and something I can enjoy for the rest of my life.
The center piece is actually 3 XL ceramic tree stumps that I ordered from Drsfostersmith.com
I turned them upside down and just placed them all together then placed plants all around it. More plants to come by the way.
Yes, we actually had to (more or less) build the room around the tank. It was too large to carry through the house and door ways so we left an opening in the side of the house in order to get the tank in there. The tank would have to be disassembled piece by piece or the house taken apart to get the tank out .
Thanks again!
Ken

That has come together very nicely Ken! Well worth the wait. The tank looks just the right size for your parrots. Makes you wonder already how they managed in the 'small' tank LoL!
Six months in the making. We had no choice but to be patient! It has been fantastic following your project from beginning to...end? Hope construction worker came through it all well after his scare.

I've worked out (and I've been told) that the amount of work I do is inversely proportional to the amount of time I spend on Fishlore! Sad I know I try having it on in the background. Miss too much away for a couple of days! Now back to workYour tank is looking great BTW. I think 6 - 8 Dollars will look great, but I'll pity your plants though! (or are they all plastic?)

Morning Life. It's always nice to see you pop on when you can. All of my plants in the 265 are currently plastic. By the tone of your text they will probably remain that way too I do plan on adding a couple more Silver Dollars before too long. 3 Cory Julli's are in quarantine until the end of the month. Once I move them over I hope to have a Red Hook and a Striped Silver to the 5 common ones I have now. I am assuming they will all school or at least hang out together. (maybe 2 of each)teehee.
Best to Mrs. Life.

Evening Ken! Why not try Wisteria in the background. They are easy to grow, and quite cheap to buy. I consider it nibbling food for the Dollars (I have no choice) and although some are a bit bare towards the bases, they are holding up quite well towards the middle and up top.

Thanks for the tip Life. I'll see if I can locate the Wisteria!
I'll keep you posted.
