i am getting a new tank ( at least 20 gal probably bigger) and i would like to get anglefish. my question is do i need to get more than one of them or do i not neeed to plz answer and i'll be much oblighed

You would be ok with one, although if you wanted to get 2 you certainly could with a 20 gallon tank. When you go looking for your tank, keep in mind for angles the taller the tank the better, as they will eventually grow to be quite "tall" themselves.
