i got both of my angels at same time(same size and tank at LFS) they were about the size of a quarter maybe a bit bigger, and have been growing like crazy!...but now they bite each other sometimes i wasn't too worried then after all they all cichlids.... then it happened more often, and today the strangest thing... i got puzzled... and said "huh" kinda loud.. and as if hearing me they did it again....after nipping one another, they tilted slightly (one tilting left other tilting right)...then put their dorsal fins and "bottom" fins down... then suddenly back up! slight darting to and fro (no biting here) then Tiger, my striped one would try and swim away, then the other would nip him and start it over again. is this behavior good, or bad.
happy new years!!... too bad fish don't know not to stress people on new years....(or do they do it just to annoy me ...)
i wouldn't move them, that'll probably just end up stressing them out a bit. i'll let some of the members that have had angels spawn chime in, but from what i hear they make pretty good parents
As they are in a community tank the fry will get eaten (pretty obvious lol), if you moved them they would likely spawn again once they have spawned once, removing the eggs depends on whether your angelfish are good parents or not, sometimes the parents will eat the eggs and/or fry, sometimes they still have their natural parenting skills
I would leave them alone. If they are a pair, usually the first spawn or 2 is not successful, but at least you would see eggs stuck on something and them defending the eggs for a day or two.
If it turns out they are indeed a pair, then you can move them to a spawning tank or however you want to handle it.
My pair did very well in a 55 gal. community tank (understocked) but eventually did lose all the fry as the wandered away from the parents.
okay, lip-locking has been going on(which i hear is another sign of pairing) i've been told that angel's "clean" the spawning site, can some one describe to me the "cleaning of the spawning site" cuz i've seen them pick a leaf or two on a plant i have, i'm trying to be there to see eggs before they get eaten by sneaky pig fishies so i know for sure about a pair.

Well they will look like they are picking at it like they normally would pick at stuff in the tank, but it will be in one specific place, usually on a plant
steed, it's kinda hard for me to judge from looking at them pics. but if i was to take a guess at it, i would say that their both female. with my angels the males dorsal, and bottom fins are twice and long as the females. the ventral fins on my males range from 7-9" long as the females are only 2-3" long
