Angelfish stocking question

I have a 55 gallon tank someone gave me I'm setting up for some angels. I don't know whether to just get 2, because I read you wont have any aggression problems that way. Or if I should get 5 or so. I wont have anywhere to move them except a 75 gallon that all ready has 1 juvenile angel. What ever else I get will be juvenile too.

I don't really care if I have a pair or not . I wouldn't have any room for the babies and I don't want to have to sell any. I just want a few pretty angels, and maybe some cories.

What would you do?

Thanks so much!

Hi jmm197
I would go to a store you trust, and watch their angel tanks for a good 20 mins or so..by doing that, you will see what angels seems to school together and get along...I would then pick out 2-4 angels that seem to stick together....acclimating them is the hardest lately..test the water in the bag you bring home for pH..then test your tank....if theres a huge difference, spend longer time drip acclimating them ..ph shock is a huge issue with angels....give them lots of cool big leafed plants (silk or real) to have to hide and such in, and let them be...even if you get 2 pair, in a 55g with allot of different plants, you should be able to be fine with them...after a couple months, you can stock a nice school of cories ...good luck!

I agree angels take a while to get big so don't put to many in when they are small. They aren't usually aggressive towards other angels unless one pair is breeding. The corries will not bother you angels at all.
