Angelfish top fin drooping

Does anyone know what might cause the top fin on an angellfish to droop? It is only 1 out of 3 that has the problem & there are no nippy fish in the tank.

One of the other angels is a bit agressive & might have damaged it perhaps?

Firstly, WELCOME TO FISHLORE!

It could be poor water quality or maybe like what you said about the other angel being agressive. Does the fin look scratched or like a tear? Normally if I'm not wrong, droopy fins are caused by poor water quality. If you could, please update your aquarium info so other members can help you better We would like to know how big your tank is, what other fish you have and if you have knowledge of the nitrogen cycle without us having to ask you Keep us posted.

Best of luck and welcome aboard!

Hi misterblobby!
if you could fill in your aquarium info, under my settings, it would help with some advice our members would give and not have to ask so many questions ...

what size is the tank? whose in with them ? how longs the tank been running?

Hi all,

Thanks for your help. Filled out all the profile stuff, it's a 160L (about 40-45 gallon) tank. All the fish are still fairly small, and the water quality is good as far as I can tell, but I've never checked hardness as the tap water here is pretty soft anyway. Filters are all clean and in good condition.

I treat the tap water with chlorine neutraliser and leave it for 1-2 days before adding to the tank.

I did have a problem with brown algae a while ago, but seem to have got rid of that with some suckerfish and by keeping the light out of the overhead filter.

I can't see any obvious damage to fins, but will keep a closer eye on the water quality & see if anything shows up.

It does seem to be the one that gets picked on by the more agressive angel, but I really don't know if that's the problem. The gourami is smaller than the angels and keeps to himself.

Anything else it might be?
