lets see if this helps ....

I caught my pair spawning again...and got some ok shots to see if I can help others sex their angels....

sexing angles (2).JPG<--female..notice how thick her dorsal fin is as it goes from her body to the top .....and her breeding tube is out and is very thick and rounded...although she has a slight bump on her face, nothing like my male..shes more slim than he is...

sexing angles (3).JPG<--notice his dorsal fin is much thinner but still long ..hes much more round than the gal....

DSC05524.JPG<--look close and you can see his pointed breeding tube (guess he was being shy tonite LOL )

I was trying to get some updated pics for BB with her babies that are in the tank, and noticed these two doing their duties ....

The only way it actually worked so far is by me wearing my snail costume and just sit still.

Thanks for posting the pics, hopefully others will be able to sex their angels using this as a guide.
They're so pretty. Good luck with the eggs.

Shawnie that is very helpful. I have a few pair of angels and I know which is which of my pairs....mainly by color or size. Now when the breeding begins I can tell by the breeding tube but the "head shape" is beyond me. Tommy thinks he has that figured out but I'm not so sure.

I will try to get some pics of my pairs and let you decide if their shapes match their sex. Oh dang that means I gotta take fish pics....too bad Tommy took the camera with him LOL. I will see if Michael has his around and maybe get him to take some shots for us.

I know for sure which ones are the females because I have seen them lay eggs....before you ask LOL.
