Shawnie's always on duty, we try to make her work 24/7 but sometimes she just insists that she has a life other than Fish Lore.
(To Shawnie )

Your Angels are beautiful.
iloveengl is right, Shawnie is great at sexing angels.
However, several other members are also, so I'm sure you'll receive help soon.

If I haven't said it before, welcome to Fish Lore

I'm not good at sexing them unless their spawning and their breeding tubes are exposed.
That said... the marble looks like it's breeding tube is out and looks to be a female.
Lets see what Shawnie thinks

And some more

we had her with another angel before the altum, and the other female picked on her pretty bad...we took the other female back to the LFS....we have used fin fixer, but it never worked...so she is the way she is...we kept her....the other one was mean...the altum is 1 years old and 6 1/2 inches from fintip to fintip and 3 inches from nose to tailfin..so we might have a hermaphrodite...the owner if the pet shop said that all the angels in the tank we got it from are all one years old...and male....maybe he was wrong...

I finally got the upload right...because I had my hubby download them for me in my 45 gallon folder.....yeeeehhhaaa

when it is close to the light it has lots of blue on its checks and gills...like the GBR...the minute we put it in the tank our other angels huhu started to stick out...that is the cleanest word i could come up with for its thingy

the marble is kind of picking on the altum...today they are more calm....the marble actually let the altum eat from the top of the tank...

poor girl...is she the one being stressed by the altum? or visa versa? soaking her food in fresh garlic juice, and some fish protector / stress coat should help her allot..will take a couple weeks tho...not positive on your altum's sex as I see both characteristics...hermaphrodite, never heard of but in this hobby, anything is possible....trust your LFS as they have been in the business of sexing them for awhile

no she is fine with the altum (its name is corky)...we have names for all of our cichlids...our yellow lab is mama, since she had 13 batches of kids.

we have tried stress coat, melafix, and another one I dont the name of...

the only other fish in the tank with her are 6 hengeli rasboras...and they never bug or bugged her...

we have even tried the salt bath routine...nothing worked...we have had her for a year,,,she was the size of a quarter when we got her with 5 other angels...had to take them back, very aggressive and we kept a koi marble and the one in the pix..

Anatomy

Some species enjoy being in solitude, but are extremely territorial. The grey angelfish is the largest species and can be quite bold and fearless. They are known to approach divers without fear. The grey angelfish can reach up to 23.5 inches (60 centimeters) in length, while most angelfish are 8 – 12 inches (20 – 30 centimeters) long. Angel fish like to stay near shallow reefs and not exceed more than 50 meters deeps. Angelfish like to travel in groups called harems. A single male is dominant over the females. When he dies or is removed, a female or another male will take his place. If the dominant leader is a female, it will develop into a male and take the prior male’s position.

I got this off of a website link...the protogynous or whatever that means...

unless you bought from an established angel breeder, this wouldnt pertain to your LFS species....and I know the anatomy, just never seen it on any angels ive been around

Your information is talking about saltwater angelfish. The angelfish you have in your tank are freshwater fish and totally different.
