angel spot

Hi, I have a happy looking striped angel who has a small spot on its side. It looks dry - not ICH like. I thought it might have bumped itself but now I see a couple of small dots and wonder if its got something.

It is eating well, behaving normally. Tank parameters are good.

55 gallon tank. Our platinum angel died two weeks ago. No spots. Just got a belly bloat and stopped eating and stopped swimming much.

A week ago we got another platinum and he's healthy and happy.

Rest of the tank - mollies, guppies, danios, tetras and 2 new grommies.

I don't want to treat the tank for nothing - he looks so happy.

anyone got an idea?

Thanks,
Michelle

Hello Michelle W and Welcome to Fish Lore. If you don't think it is ICH there is a possibility that it is being picked on by one or both of your Gouramis. Especially if the Angel is smaller than the Gourami. Have you noticed any aggression amongst them?
Too, if there is any way that you can post a photo of the Angel would be a great help.
Are your reading for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate where they should be? 0, 0, 5-10.?
Best of luck. I hope it's going to be alright.

Hi Ken,
Yes, the tank readings are that - the Gourmais ignore him.
The spot is oval -probably about 1/16" by 3/16" pinkish in the middle. Slightly raised, firm looking white edge.
Photos haven't been turning out.
Thanks,
Michelle

Michelle below is a link (warning: graphic photos of sick fish) that may help you to identify the problem. Too, let's see what responses you get today.
Best wishes for a full speedy recovery!
