Question: Help with my Angels on mating etc.

Is it possible to have a fully matured male angelfish inside the fish tank already by itself and then introduce a female fully matured angelfish into the tank? Would they be able to become paired up and then after that, they will have eggs and then babies will come later on?

I just bought in a female Pearl Scale Angelfish and my male angelfish usually would pick on new fishes, even angelfishes bigger than him. Although when I introduced the female one, the male didn't attack her. No bleeds or no injured scales.

I hope anyone can help me

Thanks.

Hello Neji...if you have a true pair (male/female) and they are the only two Angels in the tank, everything should be ok. If not, then there could be territory issues. Best of luck for a spawn! Keep us posted.

Thanks. Yes they are the only two angels. One is gold, and the other one is a Pearl Scale.

It just depends Neji.
He will either view her as an intruder or not. It is often difficult to pair cichlids once they are mature. The best way is to buy a group of juvies, say 5-6, and let them grow and pair off on their own.
Here is a great example of this... Some fish just don't get it!

I know what sex my angels are One is a male Gold Angel, and the other one is a female because the male has a bump and the female doesn't. At least I'm pretty sure that is how you sex them. That's what someone told me. And then over time I've been seeing so many angelfishes out in the wild

Thanks btate617 for the link to the thread I've seen it before too

I have small angels in my pond all the time, so they are probably eggs layed by the parents, and then the angels grow up. They are wild angels, so I don't have to do any cleaning because I built it myself with a friend who is a native of Peru, and lived near the Amazon River ever since he was young

So there is a big pond we made, and filled it up with sand and dirt, and then live Amazon Swords and other plants. Then we dug a long stream that will send water into the pond and it's just a small stream that is from the big Amazon River, and then that water quickly fills up the pond, and then I built something that looks like something you can use as a "door" like thing I guess that can allow water to flow in and you can close it so water cannot access it.

So I find baby angels and adult angels inside all the time. I also dug out many streams running out from the pond so then it goes back into the Amazon. It's complicated to explain, but it is very unique I am still working on it. I've been working on it for more than 6 years. We are still putting in more decorations and it's just me, my friend and my other friend. One of my friends is a landscaper so he knows a lot on how to build ponds etc.

Sorry I digressed AGAIN
