Quarantining Angels

I know that Angels are sensitive and only thrive in a stable well established tank. In the past, I never quarantined my angels, because I always feared that since the quarantine tank wasn't "well established" that I might lose them, so I just took the risk and added them to my community tank. Is there a way to quarantine angels, fragile as they are, and keep them in good health?

Kate it's ok to put them in the "Q" tank as long as you watch the water parameters. If they are the only ones in there it should be fairly easy to monitor the tank. Your only going to leave them in it temporarily.

Thanks Carol I remember the first angel I ever got, I lost it in a Q tank, so I have been paranoid to put angels in there ever since. I was just starting out with fish at the time though, so I probably did something wrong.

I keep at least one small sponge filter in main tank for this purpose. I have two that are flat which I put under the grave land power with an air pump. This way they serve 3 purposes: undergravel filtration, oxygenation, and emergency Q tank filter. It may be worth looking into.

Thanks Marc I usually keep extra media in my filter and I add it to the filter of the Q-tank when I set it up. A sponge filter is a good idea though, I'll have to look into that
