Lfs has baby angels

My LFS has a bunch of half inch angles. I have a 55 gallon tank with guppys, platys corys snails and 2 honey gouramis and a kulihi loach. I have plenty of hiding places and I have heard that is angles grow up with smaller fish they won't eat them or pick on them. I have lots of places for the fish to hide

I believe the guppies will be at risk when the angels get bigger.
What are your plans for this tank?
One angel would be a nice "show piece" for your 55G.
Is there one type you like more than the others?

If you want a pair, I've read: get 6 juvies, let them grow and a pair will form, then return/rehome the other angels.

Is your tank is 48" long? A standard 55G is a nice size for a carefully selected community tank.

Either way, I don't think angels will get along with your guppies whether they grow up with them or not. The chances of the guppies being viewed as food are considerably slimmer if the angel grows up with them, but they have a predatory instinct. Angels will ambush a small fish if given the chance. Otherwise, I think the angelfish would be a great addition to the tank. Just watch out for the guppies.

I've got 5 angels all about 1.5inches each and kept with 7 guppies, 30 neons and a 1.5inches pleco and I haven't see any problems so far. The angels seems to like to chase one another than the guppies if you kept enough of them in the tank IMO.

PS: They only chase each other around when its food time though, normally they just swim around looking chilled. Very pretty sight.
