Thanks everybody They are awesome parents but dad had Mom down between the rocks trying to stay between her and the babies so I moved them to another tank.
Without the babies they are really docile but I have had him come out of the water after my hand when they had babies LOL

Mare occasionally I trade young angels for store credit at our favorite LFS which makes it nice to be able to afford what I want fish wise.
I also took 14 to Dinos spring gathering. Swilkins went home with four of them

So cute Carol!
Thanks for sharing the pics, it gave me a smile seeing all those babies.

Did you move the parents or the fry? I'm thinking that's a lot of fry to move!

Lucy I moved the parents, it's sooo much easier and stops Dads aggression immediately.
Cesch yes there are a lot of them there. As the adults mature they gift me with larger and larger batches of babies. This is the largest yet

those really are alot of babies and i never liked angel fish but seeing those pics makes me extremely interested now!

tell me what i need to do! I have a 75 gal planted community tank, no real aggressive fish, but i'll soon be upsizing to a 90 gal (like, tomorrow).

are they egg layers? easy to breed in a heavily planted tank? do the parents take care of their fry, as i assume they do in the pics?

like i said, seeing those pics makes me interested in giving it a try, i've always had livebearers but want to get some egglayers to breed!

Up date the fry are still doing great today they got three meals of golden pearls yesterday and really ate good all three times. I jsut got in from work and fed them again. they are little piggies. Even though they are in a well established 55g with one Oto I still did a water change yest and may do another tonight. they are not big enough to add much bioload but as heavily as I am feeding them the food could cause a problem if I don't keep up water changes
Enthusiast- Yes angelfish are egg layers. I would suggest if you are planning to breed that you put your angels in a tank by them selves. They can get really protective and mean when they have eggs or fry. In a community tank angel fry tend to get eaten by nervous mom or dad or by the other occupants in the tank.

The babies look great! It's so interesting to watch the parents care for the babies. I'm not familiar with Golden Pearls but just googled it. Does it come on different sizes?

Oh Carol they are sooo pretty!!! I want my angels to hatch their eggs instead of eating them everytime. The babies I got from you are not really babies anymore LOL. I will have to get some new pics of those babies for you so you can see how well they are doing. I did lose one for some unknown reason but the other three are doing very well.

Thanks Shawnie

I'm going to have to try this. I have several pairs that are really good parents but I keep ending up with only 15-20 fry that make it to adults mainly because I'm too lazy to hatch brine shrimp so I feed them Hikari first bites.
