Help with small angel!

Hi.

As you might have heard that I have a 29 gallon tank filled with one HUGE angel, along with one blue gourami, one black skirt tetra, albino skirt tetra, two plecos, two leopard danios, one otocinclus cat (idk how to spell it correctly) and one betta in with all of my other fishes.

Also, my tank is like a jungle so it's a big pain sometimes but it's okay. So I bought three angels. Two died, and one is still alive. The only thing is he or she should be fine mainly because my tank is so densely populated with plants and there shouldn't be too much of a problem with that. So I don't know what is wrong O_O

My water is clean and I feed a good amount of food all the time, and everything is okay because there is not too much algae on the glass, 0 ammonia, low nitrites and nitrates, and my plants look very healthy. Nothing is going wrong. Is there something that I should do?

Should i add some more stress medicine thing?? It's the big als stuff which works well for me because I don't have to put both aqua plus or cycle. I also rinse out my filter sponge and charcoal with aquarium water, but I don't do it all the time. Just every few days. I even rinse it out with tap water sometimes because my friend does that and he is a fish keeper and a biology teacher too. So I know there can't be too many problems.

Is there something that I should know?

I'm sorry about your angels. Sounds like it could be a few things.

The presence of nitrites in the tank indicate your tank isn't cycled or for some reason you've gone into a mini cycle.

I don't know that much about angels. but I know they're sensitive to their water conditions and can be territorial. It would be a good idea to do daily changes until your readings for both ammonia and nitrite are 0 and stay there.

What kind of plecos do you have? If they're common, they really should be in a larger tank.
The betta really shouldn't be in with the other fish, i would be a good idea if he was in a 5g cycled tank of his own.

Sounds like you may be rinsing your sponge too often. You really only need to rinse it when it gets gunky, and then, only in used tank water or dechlorinated water.

Okay thank you

I have a 10 gallon tank but currently it is home to snails and yes my plecos are common plecos. One is 6" and the other one is 3" My betta has been living in the tank for a long time, so I don't know if it would be safe. Should I put the betta in a bag and then put it to my ten gallon tank and leave it to soak for a while and then I can release it into the tank?

The 10g would make a great home for a betta, is it heated and cycled?
You can acclimate him slowly, let the bag float and add small amounts of tank water over the course of an hour or so.

Your plecos could be the reason you have nitrites. They have a big bio load and can grow huge. They should be kept in at least a 55g tank.

Yup my 10 gallon tank is heated and it's been around since 2005 so I don't have to worry about it not being cycled. Although the ten gallon tank is an incandescent light and is not fluorescent like my 29 gallon tanks and other tanks.
