Question about eggs

i have a male and a female, they are on egg batch number 2. they ate the first lot,, i think mainly cause they were in a community tank with plecos, danios, guppies and other angels,, now there in their own 20 gallon tank and have laid batch 2, at some point between monday night and tuesday at 5pm. today im noticing some are turning white, counted 58, which is about1/5 or 1/6 of the total,, i didnt witness them laying so i dont know if any are fertile, also the parents arent getting rid of the dead eggs but i dont want to raise them myself.. i want the parents to do it,, at what point will they drop to the bottom of the tank and what will the parents do with them when they drop.

most parents, by the time they are free swimmers(6-8 days), will eat the babies ..although mine have gone about 2 weeks then they snack on them..... they dont drop per say..they loose their egg sacs ..you will see little eyes and tails forming and the parents putting them back up on the leaf as they squirm off...then they are free swimming usually around the top of the tank so if you want successful babies, you will have to raise them at a certain point

thanks,, ill prob put the parents in my community tank as i only have 2 tanks with lights,, (out of 5)
fingers crossed,
also i have never tested my water for anything as it cost to much, but ive not had one dead fish because of desease, and my water is crystal clear,,
how important is testing?
oh and its 9 months since i brought my tanks

Angelfish breeding (w/ pics) is another thread with some info about breeding and fry....IMO testing is important to let you know how things are in your tanks...being clear and disease free is a good sign but the second something goes wrong, you wont have a clue where to begin..especially in fry tanks its very important to keep things prestine for proper growth and survival ...angels finnage can be damaged very easily goodluck tho!
