| lost 3 angels I recently got the tank cycled and added 3 angel fish to the tank, the first one was dead the next morning, the other two lasted 3 days and died, I traded in one for 3 neon tetras and they are all alive still. Water is fine 0,0,5 nitrates. 7.0 php. The whole time they were in there all they did was hide. |

| im sorry you lost your angels....they dont do well in newly setup tanks and prefer an established one... says the tank has only been running a few weeks...how was it cycled? and as new as the tank is, it already has quite a stocking list for a new tank so im wondering the expiration date on your API liquid test kit? also, did you really bang that # 2 bottle of nitrate solution ? you could be getting a false reading for that....im sorry for all the questions...it will just help rule things out |

| It cycled fast, I think a potted plant I bought had some bacteria in it, Then I seeded it from another tank after it was allready cycled I believe. Most of the fish have been in it all along, but the neon tetras were added a couple of days ago. I have about 25 plants in the aquarium, They also tested the ammonia and nitrites at the LFS when I took the first angel back.Today is the first reading I've ever had of a nitrate.it usually says 0. I don't see any expiration date on the api kit, and I shook it up for about a minute. |

| This happened to me too. It's was really awful to watch. I would recommend acclimating them for a hour or even two using he drip method. That seems to work for me and now I dont' acclimate any other way. |

| I took the dead angels back and they gave me 3 neon tetras and 2 swordtails, the female swordtail was found dead today,I think they just have bad fish at that store, its 20 tanks all connected like at walmart or petsmart. The rest of the fish I bought from a store that keeps them in their own seperate tanks and they are all still alive. |

| i'm sorry you lost her since they're on a central filtration system, if any one fish in any of the tanks gets sick, it's more than likely going to spread to every single other tank. i'd stick with the store that has separate filtration systems on the tanks. |

| first...try changing your LFS cause souonds like a bad batch of fish...
i have always found angels to be more delicate than they are given credit for...lost 1 angel the very next day myself...the rest 3 have been getting along great since the last 2 months...however only recently one of the angels is being picked on by another...doesnt look like any pairing has taken place... |

ph doesnt usually matter as much but testing the ph of the water in their bag, then test your tank to compare the differences, is very important...a drastic ph change will kill them also |

| try testing the parameters in the LFS bags next time you get fish...if their water parameters are WAY different than yours..then the fish are getting shocked....and acclimation to the tank should be done very, very slowly....over a period of hours at the least. |

| Didn't see the reply till now, But, I got 2 replacements for free and one is still alive and kicking, the other made it a week. I think it's just the size of the angels, small ones are way more sensitive seems like. |
