Fighting Angels!

I just looked over, and my bigger angel is picking on the smaller one, chasing and nipping it whenever it comes out of the plant cover. I noticed its fins are more raggedy looking then normal. What do you think caused this fighting, and what can I do?

They were both introduced at the same time, last fall, they both came from the same place, and are almost the same size. The mean one is like 2 & 1/2 inches long, the smaller one is 2 inches.

It may be two males fighting for territory. If that's the case, I'm not sure what can be done.

I don't know either, because its fins are looking pretty bad now.

Could you post a pic, maybe someone can sex them for you.
If they're two males, you my have to return one.

Okay, you can also see its fins.
The 2nd Picture is the aggressor the others are of the other fish.

I've found that two males introduced at the same time usually ends in one dying urly on.The size may be an indicator that you have 1f and 1 male. The males develop a hump on thier nose. My male did allow the female free rome tho. If one is frayed up i think yoou should consider not keeping them together.

OOps our posts crossed. They both look like they have humps on thier nose.

So they're both boys?
And do you know why the aggression wouldn't start until just now, about 6 months after I got them...

Well, unfortunately, I got home from school today to see that the smaller angel had died. I guess that the bigger one just bullied it to death.
Do you know why it would suddenly start bullying it after they had been together for around 6 months?

Perhaps they're reaching maturity or something changed in the enviroment that put them on edge.Hard to say with angels. i have one and i recently seen him nip a gourami and if he does it again hes a goner!!! he did kill his buddy too like the third day.
