My male Koi - "Mr Perfect" Seems unwilling or unable to fertilize eggs deposited by his new female Koi tankmate. The eggs turned white after 24 hours. This same thing happened with his old tankmate who unfortunately died, although he was only 6 months old then. His new tankmate is 6 months old and he is now about 1 year old. Could he be sterile? Or are they just not "bonded", There has never been much aggresion between him and the two females he has shared his 20 gallon hex tank with. Any opinions will be appreciated. I have several angelfish books but still have a lot of questions.

Thanks for the reply. Mr Perfect is "show quality". He is huge - the size of a soda can bottom (body only) with long fin trailers although definately not a veil, and is about 80% orange. Looks great at Haloween! His tankmate "Little Queenie" laid eggs for the first time. I only introduced her into his tank 6 days ago. I will write some other time about my odd couple 2 female Silvers whose behavor I cannot figure out.
