maybe a pair?

My 2 Angels (Pepper and Mustard) have been 'hanging around' together, whenever i look at the tank, 90% of the time they are within 6" of eachother, Peppers Breeding tube is starting to show so i think he is a male but im not sure about the other

this is pepper before the breeding tube started to show

could some one help me sex them and tell if they are becoming a pair?

Thanks

Honestly I stink at sexing Angels..Shawnie is good at it!!..lol...But you only know for sure when they spawn..If you could get a pic of the breeding tube then I'm sure someone could easily sex it.

hmmm ...the top one is deffinately a male(hump in his brow area if fish have a brow lol and pointed topfin )....and the bottom looks to have the start of a hump brow but his taller top fin looks not as pointy (all the males ive seen have the pointed fin and fems is more rounded) so im not sure but falling towards male on the bottom one....carol is actually the angel goddess (wow that sounds majestic!) and maybe she will see this thread ...how old are these beautiful fish?

The top one looks like a male and the bottom one looks like a female. It is quite possible that they are pairing up. How large are they? You can't tell for sure that they have paired up until they spawn, but my angels that have paired off became insperable before they started spawning.

I would hazard a guess as they are both males, the ventral fins are sloped, not straight. The heads on both seem equally rounded. Females have a tendency to be more angular almost arrow shaped.I could be wrong, but not likely to get a pair here, even though 2 females will pair off,not sure about males.

males will do the same..its a 50/50 ..sometimes they get along for life ....ive even had 2 fems spawn together LOL (of course without you boyz around, nothing comes of it) and im falling towards 2 males also still..but not 100% maybe 95%

Yeah, angels are fairly hard to sex. My angels have formed a trio.1 male and 2 females, and they are rather mean around spawn time. I would say I am about 95% certain both pics are males.

they're gorgeous! hopefully you've got a pair, but as long as they get along that's what's really important!

It would be more accurate if I could see them moving but let's see.
Hard to tell from pic but is the end of tube on silver angel blunt or somewhat sharp?
If blunt then my guess would be both female.
If the tube is sharp, probably opposite gender.

i think the grey/black angel is a Female, the breeding tube is out more now and it looks blunt, although the other angel has no sign of a breeding tube yet, is this normal?
