| bought two 3" Gold Veils at PetSmart today ($6 each) Well I just committed my new 120 to being successfully cycled. The water at Pet Smart is as hard as mine along with the higher pH of 7.4. Not exactly perfect for these fish but they are already acclimated and swimming fine. Just hope my compatibility doesn't get too far off as I am committed to getting Blood Parrots as tank mates. A member here says he has never had a problem with them for computability so we will see. These were paired up during my 30 minute observation before buying so don't have to worry about that. Hoping the increase in Bio load isn't too sudden.
Anyone know the sexing and what that bulge is on the top one? Last edited by CWO4GUNNER; March 29th, 2009 at 06:38 PM.

| Beautiful fish. Congrats. I'd love to have angels at some point. It seems some pair up just fine others have problems. I imagine in your size tank there's plenty of room for them to establish their own territories.
That's what keeps me undecided.
Good luck with yours! |

| Beautiful angels! Could be full of eggs
My blue female/sunset blusher pair and the silver pair at home just spawned today.
The Silver pair at work spawned friday. thats kind of how the female looks before her breeding tube drops.

| What did you use slate or a leaf for there eggs? And do you expect them to hatch? And do expect the parents become territorial toward others?
All this breeding business unexpected responsibility. Thanks Quote:

| Thanks Lucy. Good to hear from you and know you don't take me too seriously as sometimes I can forget about being sensible, kind, and respectful. Quote:

All this breeding business unexpected responsibility. Thanks | One set at home laid on the filter uptake tube, the others at home laid on a long sword shaped anubias leaf. the ones at work laid on an Anubias barteri leaf. they lay where ever they want to
I have good luck with the ones at home and have two tanks of young angels growing out. The ones at work always disappear.
The angels will get very territorial. but I wouldn't worry about it until it happens

| I hope you have better results with Petsmart angels than I did.
I lost 4 of them in a week, but the entire shipment was bad. |

| Beautiful angels! A great pickup from petsmart and that does look like the eggs bulge on the one angel. They do lay eggs wherever they want.. at first our pair liked the heater, then they went for the slate (that's when we got fry), then they switched to the filter intake tube. They just laid eggs this afternoon actually. |

| Thanks everyone for your comments, too kind. Ill certainly try and give them the best of what they need. Normally with new fish intro I run my UV Sterilizer for 48 hours to kill any pathogens they might be carrying, but I cant afford to kill any good bacteria right now that may be migrating around the tank trying to colonize. This evening the water numbers were good but tomorrow Ill know if I'm going too fast. |
